The ’60s and ’70s were the era of the hippies. Down to earth, vintage, and defiant, they changed the world — including the world of fashion. Hippie hats such as the floppy hat, slouch beanie, suede outback, or cabby have become *new* hats for a generation of boho and festival followers. These mostly late ’70s hats combined with the Mod ’60s where the baker boy, cloche, beret and bucket hat remained classics then and now. At the disco, women wore sequin or beaded berets, beanies and skull caps in the late years.
We searched online and picked out favorite new 60s and 70s hats as well as vintage and modern hippie hats, mostly for women, although many can be worn by men. See more men’s 70s hats here.
