The 1960s and 1970s started the hippie fashion trend of bell bottom flares and blue jeans. In the 60s, hippie pants were bright colors with psychedelic trippy prints and a high waistline. The blue jean and corduroy flare pant dominated the late 60s and most of the 70s. There were also women’s wide leg flowing palazzo pants and jumpsuits in tribal prints. Modern neo-hippies have taken these vintage hippie pants and expanded the fashion to include yoga pants, leggings and tights for women, as well as harem pants for men.
