The feminine thirties brought us modest blouses tailored with cute puff sleeves, pointed high collars, adorable buttons, and pretty patterns of floral, polka dots, and solid pastels. Long sleeved 1930s blouses had full arms, wide wristbands and a soft bow tie at the neck. Many blouses had layers of ruffles on the front and a matching belt to accentuate the waist.
The later ’30s blouse or button down shirts often had collars, some matching and some contrasting the material. They all fit very snug at the waist. Knit tops were popular casual clothing and silk bell-sleeve evening blouses made separates a new formal trend. Thanks to the Art Deco movement, all 1930s blouses were streamlined yet ornate with their trim.
These new 1930s style blouses, tops, and shirts are perfect additions to a 1930s skirt or wide leg pant outfit.
