While there were a few trends, styles, colors and patterns that are unique to certain decades, men’s vintage socks only changed slightly from the 1900s onward. In the 1920s, men wore tall over the knee argyle socks with their golf attire. The bigger and bolder the pattern the better. It was the same in the 1950s, when bold pattern over the calf socks were worn with Bermuda shorts. The two looks were quite similar.
