Tweed ride outfit
Tweed rides, runs, walks, and parties are happening in growing numbers in both the UK and USA. And for good reason — tweed fashion is coming back in the mainstream while vintage fashion fans re-embrace the style. The roots go back to the Victorian era, but now almost any vintage era can be incorporated into tweed fashion. Going to a Tweed Ride-themed event means seeking out vintage inspired tweed fabric clothing for men and women. Tweed suits, plus fours (knickers), vests, bow ties, and caps are part of most men’s tweed outfits. Ladies can wear the same or opt for a tweed dress or skirt, tights, scarf, and blazer. Tweed outfits have no rules, except to try to incorporate some genuine tweed or brown/grey plaid, herringbone, or checks as a major component. These winter warm fabrics lend themselves to cooler weather events, but a summer tweed outfit can be easily achieved with linen, seersucker, and cotton clothing in lighter colors.
