Edith’s Gown in Downton Abbey Season 4
Downton Abbey style dresses continue to grow in popularity as new seasons come out. With season four ending in 1922 and season 5 starting in 1924, fashions are really starting to embody the elegance of the 1920s era. Early in the season dresses, were cut straight and long with elaborate beading. As we move to the mid 1920s dresses are showing drop waists and shorter hemlines as well as more vivid colors. The modern fashion industry has kept pace, producing some gorgeous 1920s Downton Abbey inspired dresses for shoppers in the UK and USA alike.

New dresses are coming out this fall with a definite Downton Abbey look (yeah!) that will be all over proms and weddings this year (more on that in a future post).
