Yes, women could wear sneakers in the 1920s. Classic white, blue or black canvas shoes, such as Keds Champion, were worn in the 1920s. They were worn them to gym class (PE Class) and indoor sports. Women also wore them for tennis, cricket, and other lawn sports.
