1900s and 1910s Edwardian era men’s suits were the foundation for the modern suits of today. Sack suits were long, plain, loose fitting suit jackets with wide lapels and a one to three button high closure. They were very similar to modern suits, albeit longer in length and looser. Fabrics were all wool with hints of striping, checks, or plaid, and common colors were dark navy, grey, green, ivory, and occasionally brown. Seersucker was popular in the summer months.
