Vintage loungewear is very different from today’s yoga pants. Elegant vintage ladies wore silky pajamas, nightgowns, robes, and housecoats in the mornings and evenings before dressing for the day or retiring at night. Some of the vintage loungewear trends by decade are:
- 1920s loungewear: Asian inspired pajamas, boudoir sets. Shop pajamas and slippers.
- 1930s loungewear: Beach pajamas, long silk robes and fur cuffed robes
- 1940s loungewear: Housecoats, wide leg pants
- 1950s loungewear : Peignoir Sets, Hostess pants with dress, Duster robes
- 1960s loungewear: Jumpsuits, Maxi dresses, hostess gowns
- 1970s loungewear: Workout clothes
