This weeks photo roundup is all about vintage skirts. Versatile, easy to wear, and casual or glamorous, the skirt has a long history and a diverse range of styles. Long ankle-length skirts started off the turn of the century and gradually shortened up to just below the knee in the 1920s. Hemlines dropped and the sillhouette narrowed in the conservative yet elegant 1930s. Practicality set in in the 1940s for at the knee A-line skirts during WWII.
